Carol Storms, a Santa Fe artist tells this story:

"After ten years of beading joy, I was introduced to Da, a woman from a village in northern Thailand. She taught herself to bead so that she could teach the people of her village, who desperately needed work."

Carol designs each piece and then sends the raw beads and a video of her making each design over to Thailand, where she has now employed the women of Da's village.
